Delta 8 Vs. Delta 9: Do People Prefer Delta 8 or Delta 9?

We at CBD believe in taking whatever CBD product or supplement is best for you – but the same cannot be valid for Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC. Which, we’re sure, leaves you with a lot of questions, the most important of which are:

  • Is either of them legal in your area?
  • Is Delta 9 more secure than Delta 8?
  • Which THC is better, Delta 8 or Delta 9?

Delta 8 vs Delta 9 THC: What’s the Difference?

They also have a similar chemical structure, receiving their names depending on the placement of their double carbon bond. Each of them influences your appetite, thinking process, and motor skills by interacting with your endocannabinoid system (ECS) via CB1 and CB2 receptors. The similarities, however, end there.

Delta 8 THC is not. Although it was found about the same time, Delta 8 naturally degrades as the hemp plant ages, so a small fraction is available after extraction. Delta 9 THC, on the other hand, is far more abundant.

And, when Delta 9 THC became more popular, there was no motivation to work on extracting enough Delta 8 for testing. Not to mention that since it’s present in such minute concentrations, it is often extremely expensive to amass enough natural Delta 8 THC to test in the first place.

This also implies that the Delta 8 seen online and in local stores is not likely to be organically generated. But we’ll talk about that afterward. The term “responsibility” refers to determining whether a person is responsible for his or her own actions.

What Is Delta 8?

Delta 8 THC, also known as delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, is distinguished from other kinds of THC by a double carbon bond on the eighth carbon atom. What this means is that while Delta 8’s psychoactive effects may be similar to conventional THC (Delta 9), they are not the same. Unfortunately, because Delta 8 is not federally controlled, little research has been undertaken on it. A lack of research leads to unreliability in both the development and manufacturing processes.

Most obviously, this means there’s no guarantee you’re purchasing or swallowing the exact amount of THC mentioned on the product label. It could have more, less, or none at all. It should also be noted that using Delta 8 THC does not replace as many Delta 8 products containing Delta 9 because there is no standard in existence mandating corporations to be transparent in their formula or production procedures in the absence of regulation.

If you believe that utilizing Delta 8 THC will allow you to avoid drug tests for THC, you should reconsider. And, regardless of your state’s Delta 8 THC rules, this can easily lead to issues. Especially since labs do not currently have the complete capability to differentiate between Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC.

What Is Delta 9?

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is one of the most well-known cannabinoids generated from the hemp plant due to its intoxicating effects. Delta 9 THC is now classified as a controlled substance in amounts greater than 0.3 percent, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill.

Because Delta 8 is still unregulated at the federal level, our full-spectrum CBD products and THC edibles are always prepared and sourced from hemp. We can ensure that none of our products contain more than 0.3 percent THC by dry weight. However, just because our products comply with federal standards does not imply they will not be detected in a drug test.

While eating a little amount of Delta 9 THC may not result in a positive drug test, that doesn’t imply it won’t show up at all. The term “electronic commerce” refers to the sale of goods and services over the internet. It’s also worth noting that THC can accumulate in your system over time. So depending on how often you use Delta 9 THC and in what quantities, you may raise your likelihood of failing a drug test.

If drug testing does not apply to you and you want to use it responsibly, we propose our Delta 9 THC gummies. Made with a staggering 10 mg of THC and 90 mg of CBD in each gummy, they also come in two delightful flavors: cherry and blue razz. Don’t worry; we’ve already created a Delta 9 gummy guide for beginners so you know exactly what to expect!

Alternatively, try one of our full spectrum CBD products, which have a whole hemp profile and are available in tinctures, soft gels, and gummies! Each contains a varied concentration of our broad spectrum mix so that you can choose the correct product and strength for you.

Is Delta 9 Safer Than Delta 8?

Unfortunately, because there isn’t a lot known about Delta 8 thus far (and consequently there are fewer rules against it), many people have the misconception that it is a safer option than Delta 9 THC.

No, not always. There is no standard to uphold and no procedure to follow while creating Delta 8 THC in the absence of laws. As a result, you can’t be sure what you’re getting when you buy Delta 8 online or in a store near you.

Delta 8 vs Delta 9 THC: Which Should You Use?

As we noted earlier, Delta 8 THC is present in significantly lower concentrations than Delta 9. The procedure is rather straightforward and far less expensive than extracting natural Delta 8 from the hemp plant. All you need are a few chemicals.

Although Delta 8 THC is legal in your area, it is not necessarily safer. Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or chat with us live right now!
